Summary of Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility for the Area Sales Manager is to be a leader of a selling team comprised of Account Managers. The leader is accountable for achieving the sales and profitability goals. This role provides direction and leadership to the Account Managers within the Territory while working closely with Branch Operation Managers and Service Managers, for customer satisfaction and market share.
Job Duties Include:
Provide quality leadership in Dakota Fluid Power for customers’ growth while upholding the desired values at all times: inclusive of constructive problem solving, facilitating creative improvements, and inspiring others.
Empowered to make decisions within the Branch, and authority to make cross functional decisions in partnership with peers of other functions.
Delegate’s authority and responsibility with accountability and follow-up.
Establish environment and foundation for future sales growth. Sells and teaches others how to sell value and create solutions for customers.
Insures that all Account Managers meets or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and closes.
Evaluate market trends and gather competitive information, identify trends that effect current and future sales and profitability. Disseminate information to VP of Sales.
Lead the sales environment, inclusive of managing performance, coaching, mentoring, career development, and assist in hiring based on criteria agreed upon by senior management.
Conducts regular coaching and counseling with Account Managers to build motivation and selling skills.
Maintains contact with all clients in market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
Sets examples for personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits.
Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
Conduct one-on-one review with sales staff to build more effective communication, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for improvement in sales and all activity performance.
Works closely with VP of Sales regarding developing Business Plan, Sales Forecast and implementing business tools. Supports Corporate in controlling expenses to meet budget guidelines.
Builds and maintain Vendor relations.
Create and maintain a team environment.
Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.
