Job Description
We are seeking a Communications Director who is experienced, capable, energetic, well-organized, a strategic thinker, and driven by a vision of a better world. The Communications Director will work with WORCΓ’s staff team to plan and execute focused, effective, and comprehensive communications strategies to support and extend WORCΓ’s influence, media coverage and online presence, and to help WORCΓ’s member groups develop and execute effective communications strategies.

Experience and qualifications:
Γ’ Highly motivated, proactive work style and excellent organizational skills.
Γ’ 3-5 years experience in communications and media relations. Proven ability to lead planning, coordination and execution of communications strategies, marketing and social media.
Γ’ Strong written communications and interpersonal skills.
Γ’ Experience using innovative methods to promote organizations and win campaigns, including visual and content storytelling strategies.
Γ’ Ability to develop an integrated communications plan that includes an overall narrative, framing for maximum impact, and effective message delivery through multiple media channels including social media, earned media and paid media.
Γ’ Experience working with reporters; existing relationships with regional and national energy, environment and agriculture journalists preferred.
Γ’ Familiarity with non-profits, community organizing and commitment to the principles of community organizing.
Γ’ Ability to position an organization to achieve tangible outcomes in a competitive communications environment.
Γ’ Ability to coach and support grassroots leaders as spokespersons, and train leaders and staff
The position is full-time and based in our Billings, Montana office with frequent travel and periodic work on evenings and weekends. Our LEED platinum certified building is a showcase of green building strategies and technologies, and a great place to work.
SALARY AND STARTING DATE
